Want a gin and tonic without the alcohol? It's possible and delicious!

gin sin alcohol

Just as there is alcohol-free beer on the market, there are now a number of brands of alcohol-free gin on the market, and those who have tried it will tell you that it's a great substitute if you can't drink alcohol.

The trend for #lowalcohol #noalcohol drinks is growing, so we thought it would be interesting to join in and gradually incorporate these products into our cocktails.

How is alcohol-free gin made?

Non-alcoholic gin generally contains: water, juniper extracts and gin's own aromatic elements, natural flavourings, organic acids, sweeteners and preservatives.

In other words, spirit gin is usually produced using similar or identical ingredients and botanicals to classic gin, but without subjecting these ingredients to the classic fermentation or distillation processes that give traditional gins (or drinks) their alcoholic strength.

Juniper is essential to achieve a similar product and to enjoy a cocktail that is as close as possible to a classic gin and tonic.

Its lightness and freshness allow you to enjoy it at any time, and now with alcohol-free gin you can do so guilt-free at any time! The big brand that opened the market was Seedlip in the UK, but in recent years the number of brands and propositions has exploded.

How do you make a non-alcoholic gin and tonic?

If you are a fan of gin and tonics, we recommend the Nanopack Gin&Tonic with 6 infusions and 6 flavours.

Recipe:

  • 50 ml non-alcoholic gin.
  • 200 ml tonic water
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime

Fill a balloon glass with ice cubes - the more ice, the more refreshing your gin and tonic will be. Pour 50ml of non-alcoholic gin into the glass over the ice. Then add the tonic and stir gently with a long spoon to cool and blend the flavours.

For an aromatic twist, squeeze a slice of lemon or orange over the drink to release its essential oils. Then add it to the glass.

Finally, garnish your non-alcoholic gin and tonic with a few juniper berries or a sprig of rosemary to enhance the flavours.
